SYRACUSE -- For the first time all year, a boys team at Roy didn't lose a league game. Taking nothing away from the baseball team's performance Monday, the Royals looked good in drawing 2-2 with the Syracuse Titans in the Region 1 opener for both teams.

CHICAGO -- Deron Williams got the better of Derrick Rose, finishing with 28 points and a season-high 17 assists, while CJ Miles scored a season-best 26 points Tuesday night to lead the Utah Jazz to a 132-108 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

OGDEN —The Grizzlies bent, but ultimately didn’t break.

Freshman guard Will Cherry drained a clutch free-throw line jumper with 24 seconds left and the University of Montana basketball team hung on to knock off Northern Colorado 68-63 in the first semifinal of the America First Credit Union Big Sky Conference mens basketball tournament at the Dee Events Center on Tuesday evening.

At least that's what Weber State University faithful anticipate as they host the Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament this week.

Great West tourney tips off Wednesday

OREM -- The Utah Valley University men's basketball team will open the first-ever Great West Conference Tournament on Wednesday as the No. 4 seed and will battle No. 5 UTPA at 2:30 p.m. at the UVU Events Center, while UVU women open tournament play Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as the No. 6 seed and will take on No. 3 Chicago State.
