Reader enraged at attack on horse

(UNEDITED) I LOVE horses ... ALL horses ... they smell good and I even don't mind cleaning up after them ... or at least I used to not mind, when I had my horse so many years ago (smile).

I am ENRAGED at this story of such a brutal attack on this sweet, young filly! It plagued my mind all day yesterday and then, when I got up this morning at 2:30 to use the bathroom, it came to my mind again and I could not get back to sleep, giving up and getting up at 4:45.

I was SO hoping to see in the paper this morning that the police had caught the low-lives who did this despicable thing to this defenseless little filly. Sadly, there was no such report.

I DO hope you will do a follow-up and keep this in the public's eye. I'm sure that SOMEONE must know SOMETHING about the scum bags that did this.

I also hope that there will be a reward offered for information leading to their arrest and subsequent punishment ... even though there is NO punishment (as allowed by law) that could POSSIBLY have them pay enough for their dastardly crime ... unless it would be to do to them what they did to Nightmare Illusion!

I am praying that Nightmare Illusion (which, by the way, is a dumb name for such a sweet filly) will heal up and be able to live a long life without too many emotional scars.
