LAYTON -- Despite having to cancel The Grass Roots concert because of a power outage caused by weather, and the challenge of a tight economy, the Davis Arts Council experienced the trifecta this summer, capturing its third consecutive summer concert season "in the black."
Hearts of Steele, an Ogden-by-way-of-Nashville band, is having a concert on Saturday to honor those with real-deal hearts of steel -- the men and women, both living and lost, who serve the country as firefighters and soldiers.

KAYSVILLE -- "G'day," Ian Roy yelled to children waving to him from below the hot-air balloon Friday morning as it floated across west Kaysville. Roy, 60, of Gold Coast, Australia, was part of the kickoff for the Antelope Island Stampede Festival, which began Friday night at the island.
