North Davis Junior High School students gathering stuffed toys for distressed children

CLEARFIELD -- Elmo peeked over the top, while a red bunny rabbit and a brown bear stared vacantly out of a barrel, as North Davis Junior High School students ate lunch in the commons area.

The junior high's Parent Teacher Student Association is starting the school year by gathering new or almost new stuffed animals to donate to local shelters, police agencies and fire agencies, said Stephanie Shelley, president of the school's PTSA.
